LCPS Regional Science and Engineering Fair

LSWCD is excited to participate annually in the Loudoun County Regional Science and Engineering Fair.  Check out our amazing 2023 recipients below. Congratulations students!

  • Evalynn Bogusz and Keerthi Selvam, had a project “A Comparison of eDNA Metabarcoding and Virginia Save Our Streams Kick-Seine Samping Methods for Stream Health Analysis”, won the James M. Rowley Award for best project related to water quality.
  • Emma Behan and Niharika Vatsavai, “Using a Microbial Fuel Cell in order to create Electricity from Waste (Benthic Mud Sample)”, won the Leslie W. King Award for best project related to natural resource conservation.
  • Shravan Athikinasetti and Amudhan Selvam, “Implementation of the Peltier Effect to Develop a Thermoelectric Cooler for Photovoltaic Panels” won the Jack Brown Award for the best project related to conservation/environmental related concerns.
